Countdown To The World Premiere Of Ahead Of The Curve

It’s less than one week til our World Premiere and we’re getting more and more excited to bring AHEAD OF THE CURVE to the West Wind Solano Drive-In as part of the Frameline44 Pride showcase. We can’t wait to see your smiling faces, even if it’s through our car windows!

For many, the thought of celebrating anything right now is challenging. We struggled with how best to approach this film’s premiere, while recognizing and honoring the time we’re living in, and we realized that making space to tell queer stories is in itself an act of resistance. Sharing the story of a visionary and unapologetic celebration of lesbian life and illuminating the call for radical intersectionality in the LGBTQ+ movement is an act of resistance. Our movement was forged in joy and struggle – as queer people, our very existence is resistance – so we’re using our joy as a powerful and nourishing tool to fuel our fight.

In anticipation of Saturday’s big event, we’re bringing signs and decorating our cars to show our pride loud and proud, and we’d love it if you did too. We have the opportunity to put signage up on the long chain link fence that bisects the lots between the two screens at the Drive-In. Please bring your BLM protest signs and Pride signs to hang!

For your entertainment and inspiration, check out this video of our AHEAD OF THE CURVE filmmakers Jen Rainin and Rivkah Beth Medow demonstrating how easy it is to deck out your ride for Pride.

If you haven’t got your Drive-In tickets yet, click here now. To make the film accessible to California folks who can’t attend the Drive-In event in person, we’ve worked with Frameline to release a limited number of digital streams. For streaming tickets, click here now.

Several of our supporters have donated tickets to our June 27th event to make available for SF Bay Area non-profits. These donated tickets can be used for raffles, door prizes, and other fundraising activities. Please send requests no later than June 24th to [email protected] with the subject line, “TICKET REQUEST.”⠀⠀
